Bulleyment Fortune has a new home with McKenzie Higham Architects

Denis Fortune, Bulleyment Fortune Architects’ Managing Director since 1998 and the visible face of the practice sadly died suddenly in August this year, leaving the practice and its employees in limbo.

His estate approached McKenzie Higham Architects to discuss the practice’s future. Callum McKenzie knew Denis well, having worked on a number of projects with him, and both having been New Zealand Registered Architects Board assessors.

The Bulleyment Fortune and McKenzie Higham architectural practices were well matched. They had related areas of experience and expertise in medical, residential and commercial projects. Their client bases were very compatible and they had very similar office cultures. Both practices saw significant value in BFA joining McKenzie Higham Architects.

Current active BFA projects and clients have now been transferred to MHA, and ex-employees John MacDonald, Mike Cronin and Jacob Rhodes-Robinson have become welcome additions to their team.
